2nd revised edition
In line with the growing interest in the history of Latvia’s towns, AAL Institute of Art History has implemented the project “Jelgava: Virtual reconstruction of Architecture and Art”. The main task of the popular science DVD is to allow each interested viewer to take a virtual walk around the town in time and space. Basic references are plans of Jelgava from 1652 to 1941. The marked points indicate the most significant buildings of each period; interiors are revealed in some cases. Reconstructions include Jelgava’s streets, panorama, floods, Jakob’s Canal, and bridges. The town is reflected in filmed reportages. Unknown images are presented in conclusion.
